Benefits of a baby gate

Baby Gate is a great tool to keep children away from home hazards. A baby gate is often used to keep children away from stairs or other objects that can cause injury. Another use of the baby gate would be to keep the child or children in a room or part of the house to make sure they are always in sight of the adult.

There are many harmful chemicals and obstacles in a typical home. By using a baby gate to keep children away or out of rooms with such hazards, it is easier for the adult to care for the children safely.

Using a baby gate at the top or bottom of a staircase is an excellent idea. Children who are learning to crawl love to climb the stairs and do not know that they could fall when trying to climb the stairs. In addition to preventing crawling babies from climbing the stairs, an even greater danger is the child falling down the stairs. Children up to 8 months do not know that stairs are dangerous. They see the stairs as a new area to explore, not as a hazard. The baby gate is a must have for crawlers.

Another use of the baby gate is to keep children in a specific area or room. With multiple children in a household, it is even more difficult to keep track of children if they are left loose throughout the house. Keeping them in a room or part of the house, they are easier to care for.

Some baby gates can be hooked together. When this is done, what is known as a play den, super yard, or playground is formed. This can be used inside a large room or the most common use, outside. Often times these play yards are used for small pets indoors. When the owner of the house does not want the small animal throughout the house or does not want the children to be in direct contact with the animal, a playground is used. A play den is ideal to use when playing in an outdoor area without a fence. The play den can be used for children who are too young to understand how to stay in an area. The play den is also great for the crawling baby. A blanket can be placed inside the playground for a soft crawling surface.
