Six Simple, Pretty, and Simple Ways to Decorate a Kid’s Room

Sometimes due to budget, time, or location, it’s not always possible to decorate with a full set of paints, wallpapers, and epic creative energy.

Fortunately, you can still add that personal touch to a child’s room using the following ideas.

1 wall decals

Wall decals are an easy way to brighten up space on an otherwise empty wall. Removable decals are great because they can be moved and replaced without damaging painted surfaces, making them perfect for renters or when decor needs to be changed as a child grows.

2 posters

The traditional poster is an inexpensive way to enhance a child’s room or nursery, a quick and inexpensive way to add color to an empty wall.

You can use a low tack pressure sensitive adhesive putty product (such as poster putty) to attach them to the wall and then easily remove them.

3 Gift wrap.

Often Forgotten: Wrapping paper is an easy way to add fun to a child’s room.

Use to line the inside of drawers and cabinets and cover a cardboard box to make a fun and easy storage solution for toys or craft supplies.

4. Cushions and pillowcases

One or 2 or even 3 of these brightly colored items can be placed on a child’s bed, on a chair, or in a reading nook. Pair them with a small bookshelf and a selection of books to inspire creativity and literacy.

Perfect for relaxing or sitting on the floor while you play, why not add an inexpensive rug and some blocks for the budding architect.

5. Lamps and night lights.

Practical and comforting: A colorful lamp can add a warm glow to a dark corner, and one with a fun print is an easy way to create a cheerful daytime theme. Lamps come in various styles that can be placed on a nightstand or in that spot that just needs a little extra light.

6. Knobs and patterned sweaters.

That plain white sideboard can easily be improved by replacing the knobs with something a little brighter.

Making a change is easy: it only takes a few minutes and a screwdriver, proof that it is still easy to “handle” the personal touch of the décor.
