Retired electric vehicle batteries could be used for storage purposes. For example, EVs can be converted into solar panels and stored in these panels for later use. Typically, EV batteries need replacement at about four to 10 years. After this time, the battery may not be fit for use in passenger vehicles. However, these retired EV batteries are suited for other uses. They can be reused as energy storage devices or for other less demanding tasks. Besides storage, these batteries can be tapped for powering streetlights in a Japanese town, powering convenience stores, and even moving elevators. They can even be made into modules and cells to power household appliances and bicycles.
