How to fix the red screen of death

The “Red Screen of Death” is an error that appears mainly in Windows XP and Vista. It was phased out in Windows 7, but it is still a big problem for many people around the world. This tutorial will show you how to fix this problem forever.

The red screen error is what is known as a “fatal” error developed by Windows when something serious happens. Like its “blue screen of death” counterpart, the red error causes Windows to restart instantly and can cause you to lose your programs and other data. The error is generally reserved for “boot loader” problems within Windows Vista.

The first thing to do to correct this error is to see if you can start Windows. If you can’t start Windows, the “bootloader” is most likely broken and you should fix it by reinstalling your system. This can be done (in layman’s terms) by placing the installation disc in the CD drive and then booting from it. You must perform a fresh installation which should replace all the corrupted files that could be causing this problem.

If you find that you can start Windows, then you must start in “Safe Mode”. To do this, press F8 before Windows has started to load, and then select “Safe Mode” from the options presented to you. Loading in safe mode will give you a good indication of whether the problem is a software or hardware problem. It basically runs Windows to the core, which means if you try to use it and it crashes, your PC is probably suffering from a hardware problem. If it loads safe mode and crashes then you should try reinstalling Windows … and if it does the same then you have faulty hardware and should take it to the store.

If your computer doesn’t crash in safe mode, then there will be a software problem that is causing the red screen of death. To fix this problem, you must open a “registry cleaning” tool that can be downloaded from the Internet. This is a software program that scans through your system and removes any damaged or corrupted files found inside. One of the main reasons Red Screen Of Death appears is because some of the vital Windows files that your system needs get corrupted. To fix this, you need to let the registry cleaner scan your system and remove any of the corrupted files that can cause the red error.
