Young Living essential oils and children

I was introduced to Young Living essential oils ten years ago as a natural way to treat depression. I have written about this experience as it changed my life in an amazing way. The short version of this story is that I am happy, healthy and free from depression, completely naturally.

But this article is to offer my experience using Young Living essential oils with children. As a mother to 5½-year-old Sophie and 19-month-old Max, I have found essential oils to be a beautiful way to bond with children, relieve their challenging symptoms, and strengthen their immune systems. I couldn’t imagine raising children without Young Living essential oils, because the quality of their essential oils is so exquisite, but also because the blends that Young Living creates are simply wonderful for relieving symptoms and calming overly tired children.

Here are some examples of how I have used Young Living oils on my children. We were traveling and my daughter spent a lot of time in the pool and later developed an ear infection. I didn’t want to fill the prescription we got in the ER and luckily I traveled with RC, a blend containing eucalyptus radiata and peppermint. I immediately started applying RC around my daughter’s ear (never put essential oils in the ear canal, it can be extremely painful to do so) and on her neck over the Eustachian tube. I did this every hour or so throughout the day before I boarded the plane, and before long, my daughter stopped fussing and pulling on her ear. We took her back to the ER and the doctor was satisfied that her ear was okay to travel. We boarded our flight the next morning and got home two hours later with no problems boarding the plane. When I took her to our pediatrician at home the next day, she found that her ear did not have any infection.

We usually use RC for coughs or colds that come up in our house, and they always go away within a few days. When there are especially bad viruses at school, I simply apply the Thieves mixture to the bottoms of my daughter’s feet every morning before she leaves the house. Thieves contains a blend of essential oils that have been known for centuries to fight infections and support the immune system. In fact, the name “thieves” comes from the story of several thieves who were successfully robbing the dead during the Middle Ages in the midst of a plague, and the king who captured them demanded to know the secret mixture that protected them from disease. . .

The other mix that we would not miss during the winter months is Di-Gize, a mix that contains tarragon, peppermint and other oils that are soothing for the stomach. Whenever a stomach bug is kicking around, we simply apply a few drops of this amazing blend to our stomachs or put a few drops in a glass of water (many of the blends made by Young Living are certified GRAS or generally recognized as safe). for consumption) by the FDA. This soothing and calming blend is a powerhouse for eliminating indigestion, heartburn, and even constipation.

When my in-laws or anyone with arthritis visits, I always have the PanAway mix on hand. I am no longer amazed at the reactions of people who use it and am baffled by the powerful pain relief they experience. I do guard it jealously though, or instruct people on how to order it themselves, as I love this blend for any muscle soreness that comes from exercise or overwork and couldn’t do without it.

Young Living oils have become our family’s “medicine cabinet.” I am so grateful to have alternatives to over-the-counter medications, and while I wouldn’t turn down antibiotics if we needed them, we’ve been able to avoid them so far because Young Living’s essential oils work so well. They empower me to calm my kids when they’re sick, help them relax when they’re too tired, and connect with them when they’re well. My children also recognize the smells of nature, which is unfortunately very rare nowadays, since we live in such a synthetic environment. They are also learning how to take care of their symptoms using a proven, safe, non-invasive modality.
