Five interesting facts about the USC Trojans and Los Angeles Rams quarterback Pat Haden

Pat Haden had a relatively short NFL career, but he was a memorable player. He starred at the University of Southern California, winning two national championships and reaching three Rose Bowls, including being named co-MVP of the 1975 Rose Bowl. He then had a productive career in the pros before turning to broadcasting, earning his law degree and eventually returning to the University of Southern California as the school’s athletic director.

Here’s a look at five interesting facts about Pat Haden.

#1 – He liked it warm and sunny

Although originally from New York, Pat Haden played virtually all of his football for teams in Southern California. He played high school football in La Puente, California, college football at the University of Southern California, and professional football with the Southern California Sun of the World Football League and the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League.

#2 – On a roll!

Haden rushed for four touchdowns during his rookie season and all of them came in consecutive games. He scored one every week ten, eleven, twelve and thirteen of the 1976 season.

#3 – Dig Deeper Ron!

Los Angeles Rams receiver Ron Jessie caught Haden’s first NFL touchdown pass. He came in a win over the Atlanta Falcons and went for 47 yards.

#4 – He liked to score just before the half

Pat Haden threw 52 touchdown passes during his NFL career. He threw 23 of them in the second quarter, more than he threw in any other quarter of the game.

#5 – Bring on New Orleans!

Haden threw more touchdown passes against the New Orleans Saints than against any other team in the NFL.
